Dear all,
Let's face the facts, the stats are telling that Sgean are going to migrate anyway regardless of the "info" that 154th newspaper prints.
Since this is the situation, why not think out of the box - instead of doing all the "band aid" solution (eg. disrupting a good posting, brain washing etc) - which get us all nowhere, why dont we look far ahead.
Help all these quitters to do well or sucessfully integrated into their adopted country, grant them dual citizenship option. Go easy on the NS requirement for their boys - be big hearted lossing 1 or 2 does not means end of the world. If the current way of doing things is not working, why not change.
Let's debate on the merits and effects of such a move.
I can send all my backroom operations back to Sg like accounting, call centre, virtual assist or to take example of what works in Sg and modify it to make it work in Ca.
In the process what does Sg stand to gain - back room jobs & knowledge for sgean. Knowledge of what works and what does not work in other country on the ground level. Repeat this in areas where there are a ex Sg population - start small and work it way up to the bigger population centre.
Life is dynamic, whatever that works in the past might not work anymore in the future. We have to be adaptable. The only resources that we have are Human - the key to survive and do well and excel over others are KNOWLEDGE.
The sg clubs that i seen in Brunei, Thailand, Philippines, Oz, Canada. They are more like social club rather than to achieve anything specific (maybe to promote Sg). The people that run some of this club has their own agenda (their or spouses occupation usually realtors, insurance agent, business broker & etc). Any quitter that migrate to a new country will usually face the same challenge, so why not have a SOP match to the current economic conditions.
In the past, in Sg we have the "Huay Kwan - society" why not used the concept to modernise it.
Currently, i am sending backroom my accounting, the call centre & virtual assistant to Philippines. I am good $$ to these companies and the economic effect are there.
I have a strong belief that for Sg, we can move up the chain to target the more value added service. When we are sucessful, others will tap into our expertise.
Well this is all i have to say. I m waiting for those naysayer to start their lambasting. Go ahead "Ready, Aim & Own time Own target Fire". I am only "O" level nia, naive and no brain.
