Angry about not striking the lottery, a man decided to vent his anger by striking a mother and daughter - who simply had the bad luck to be walking near him.
Yesterday, Gavin Khoo Theam Min, 37, who is unemployed, was jailed for six weeks after admitting to two charges of voluntarily causing hurt.
The court heard that he left his home at West Coast Drive and went to FairPrice supermarket at Block 451, Clementi Avenue 3 on Aug 4 to buy soft drinks. After leaving the supermarket, he became incensed when he found out that he did not win the previous day's 4D lottery.
He saw Madam Ho Sok Kan, 58, a telemarketer, and her daughter, Ms Jessie Li Li Wen, 22, a student, walking nearby and decided to take it out on them.
