Shortly after PM Lee said he wanted to encourage workers to
work beyond 65 years old. Straits Time published a survey
claiming that 70% of Singapore workers are willing to work beyond
65 yrs old....here is the article:
However a survey by Ranstad was done earlier on 6000+ Singaporeans and found that only 7%

According to the 2014 Randstad Award survey of 6,546 employees in Singapore, 11 per cent of respondents want to work until the age of 63-65, and 7 per cent wish to work beyond 65.
How did it go from 7% to 70% which was what the PAP wanted to use it to justify locking up CPF beyond 65?
My friend whose mom was called up during the survey said, they asked her if she is willing to work beyond 65 IF SHE HAD NO MONEY AND STILL HEALTHY. Obviously, she would have to say yes. ...if no money, better pray you have work. The way for you not to have money at age 65 is for the govt to lock it up beyond that. Now with the straits survey at hand saying 70% are willing to work beyond 65 yrs, old, they can say since majority willing to work beyond 65 no problem extend CPF withdrawal to 70.
That is how they manufacture concensus to justify policy.
