ginfreely, I agree with u. I'm in full agreement.

No offence to mallow. I hv respect for her especially for teaching me JB in my initial days
....................

Haha in my initial days of visiting JB for house hunting, I also thought Singapore plate cars means Singaporeans, took me awhile to realise otherwise too..

This one I bought from a small nursery @ Tampoi.

A Malaysian citizen who works in the Horticulture Dept told me about it.
Takes about 5~6 mos to fruit in my case.

I was impressed with d one I bought. more than 40 fruits from one vine.

so this time I bought two more vines one each from two diff vendors.

Will plant them after CNY...

should fruit by July..

sound interesting, where do you buy from and will need how long to grow?

Hi Ginfreely,

No need to buy. Just cut from existing stems from plants and put into soil. Just remember to water regularly initially (better to do it during raining season) and soon they will start to spread very fast clinging to almost anything it can reach out to (like morning glory).

Is anyone here (who's living n JB) a subscriber of Astro? I saw on their website they also have broadband services so I think their service is very similar to Starhub's - cable TV, home broadband and home phone. Is it reliable? I take lots of night calls so will need to have internet connection and IP phone that works all the time. Thanks in advance!

This Astro IPTV plus broadband package is a new launch. I don't think many have signed up yet as it has not been rolled out in Johor.
Maxis is also offering the same service.
Asides from savings, Astro thru broadband beats satellite dish which annoyingly gets frequently disrupted by bad weather.

Recently received bill from Majlis Bandaraya Johor Bahru - to pay half yearly quit rent.
Can pay online using many other banks, quite disappointed can't pay by RHB bank which is the only bank that I have.

Anybody knows if there is any other means of online payment besides paying by cheque? No such thing as GIRO payment har?

For Quit Rent, I just paid online using Singapore DBS credit card, and it worked!

For Property Tax, I am not able to do it, can't seem to navigate to the proper payment page.:(

Was at Tesco Tebrau last weekend and was approached by UOB roadshow staff to apply for credit card. I said "Singaporean can apply meh?" and she said "UOB now can, other banks cannot." Anyway I just apply for it and see how.

MY really boleh.
