Man, 18, arrested after armed robbery at Fernvale Lane store involving cigarettes and burger

An 18-year-old man was arrested for his suspected involvement in a case of armed robbery at Fernvale Lane.

The police said in a statement that they received a report on Sunday (Aug 4) at 1.30am that a man had robbed a cashier at knifepoint.

Six packets of cigarettes and a burger were taken from the shop.

Officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division isestablished the identity of the man and arrested him within four hours of the report.
The man will be charged in court on Monday (Aug 5) with armed robbery.

Those convicted can be jailed up to 14 years and get at least 12 strokes of the cane.
