Youth burnt by touching high-voltage cable to lose arms and toe
KLANG: After two months of agony, Mohd Hairuman Miskon, 22, has agreed to have his badly burnt arms amputated.
The former college student, who accidentally touched a high-voltage cable, will also lose one of his toes.
His sister Maryuni Miskon, 32, said family members did not want the arms amputated as they feared for his future.
“I did not know what to do when doctors told me that they were to amputate my brother’s arms as I wondered how he would cope without both his arms,” she said yesterday.
However, Maryuni said she felt relieved when Kelab Putera 1Malay_sia offered to help Mohd Hairuman by paying for prosthetic arms.
Kelab Putera 1Malaysia president Datuk Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim said the club would ensure Mohd Hairuman received all the necessary aid he needed, including vocational training.
Abdul Azeez said that he met Mohd Hairuman on Tuesday and told him to not give up.
The Kelab Putera has also roped in the Majlis Belia Malaysia (MBM) to help the youth.
Those who are willing to contribute to Mohd Hairuman can contact the youth council head H.M Rizan at 012-2853630.
