STOMPer Jeffery feels that the noise from a practice parade at 6.30am on a weekend morning is disturbing residents who live near this school. In a separate incident, some students had apparently told the STOMPer "Don't live next to a school", when he approached them to move the speakers to reduce the noise.

In an email, the STOMPer said:

"This school was having a parade practise at 6.30am, without consideration for the neighbourhood.

"The actual parade started at 8.50am when the VIP arrived.

"Do residents who live near neighbourhood schools have the right for peace and quiet on weekends?

"A few years ago, I had a similar bad experience with the same school.

"My daughter was sick and the school had its assembly on an open area within its compound.

"Announcements were being made via a PA system.

"I went to the compound.

"There were a few men standing there and I asked one of them if the noise level could be reduced by re-positioning the speakers.

"One of them answered, 'Don't live next to a school.'

"I was shocked by the comment and left the compound.

"I made a complaint later to the school but till now I have received no reply from it.

"Because of this similar experience, I do not want to waste my time on them now.

"This is why I am writing to STOMP.

"Is there a law that states the time that activities with high levels of noise can be able to commence?"

This is another instance of residents complaining about noise from school activities. In another STOMP story, a resident had complained of the noise from a school event at Woodlands Stadium.
