1 billion Chinese trust the CCP. The CCP has brought hundreds of millions out of poverty. Make the Chinese proud. It is not a perfect system but is just as good as the system created by the PAP. The communist begged hongkies to develop Shenzhen. And if they had not done this, there would be no transfer if hongkies know how to communist china.
Back in the 1980's, bicycle was the main form of transport and bank tellers literally sleep at the counter. Without hongkies and later on Taiwan and overseas Chinese investment, China 's only businesses are mostly state owned or owned by communist party members.
And did the communist thank hongkies or overseas Chinese for the help? Nope. They now probably say it was done by their own effort.
