Despite weeks of intense promotion, they can only managed to sell less than 50% of the tickets, the bulk which I suspect is bought by MOE, SSC, and other sports associations. Yet, 154th is trying to fool the disinterested public with this misleading headline that "tickets are selling fast". If I am not wrong, they had said the same things weeks ago, and is repeating it again as it doesn't seems to generate any interest. PATHETIC!

YOG tickets selling fast

IF YOU want tickets to catch the Youth Olympic Games, you will have to act fast.

Ticket sales to the first Youth Olympic Games have been brisk, with more than 100,000, or close to 50 per cent of tickets, having sold out.

Of the 158 competition sessions, tickets to the diving, fencing, handball and swimming events are no longer available, according to the Youth Olympic Games organising committee.

Also being snapped up are tickets to the athletics and gymnastics competitions. There are also less than 100 tickets available for all sessions of basketball, equestrian, modern pentathlon, shooting and taekwondo.

Tickets to the Youth Olympic Games closing ceremony went on public sale on Monday.

A proportion of tickets which were not transacted following the opening and closing ceremony ticket balloting exercise have been put up for public sale. This allows people who did not participate in, or were not familiar with, the balloting exercise an opportunity to buy tickets.

Marketing tactics lah. Don't believe what govt say la. We should be way past that already

I have a feeling they will get ultimately MINDEF to buy up all the unwanted tickets and get NSmen to attend and fill up the seats for the cameras.

Screw the YOG lah .

First we must help our brothers who have fallen and our
fellow Singaporeans who had gone into hardship .

Not some vanity and cronies of the ruling party benefiting .

Singaporeans remember to do your part !

You better act fast or else you will need to buy them from touts or from ebay at 100 times the actual price. But be careful as there will be fake tickets floating in the market due to the unprecedented demand. The mata will set up a special unit to clamp down on these illegal activities..........yeah rite

Balance 20,000 = GLCs? :D

So you take Uruguay, I'll take Holland? sure sure :D:D:D:D

The odds now rough Uruguay 4.5 to Holland 1.5.

If Uruguay win, you jump Singapore River. If Holland win, I jump Toa Payoh Swimming Pool again. Fair reflection of the odds.

MOE buys 80,000 YOG tickets for all schools

using taxpayers' monies???:mad:

You think MOE took money from their own pockets to buy the tickets ? Obviously is taxpayers' money la.

Heard that YOG 'sell' to MOE with a HUGE discount. MOE then tried to 'con-vince' the students to buy the tickets, though not sure at what price or if selected students were given free since many many students has to take part in some activities to 'support' the event sacrificing their time and efforts.
