Indian Navy sink wrong ship--Indian Navy is the best
You moron tried a lame childish trick to twist.
But I take an opportunity from here to make a statement.
This is my personal attitude towards hostage / ransom threats.
* The survival of hostages should not be supreme, but it does not mean that we should squander their lives. Efforts must be made to preserve but not extensively compromising the purpose of punishing hijackers.
* It must be announced and made clear at all time that hostages are asked NOT to comply with hijacker's threats and demands, and no harmless rescue nor safety is promised to any one. Hostages are responsible to fight back and self-rescue, if they complied with or helped hijackers, they are to be shot together.
* In any event if hostage died weather killed by hijackers or by rescuers or by suicide, they should be honored by military funerals.
* authority must not pay ransom nor comply to threats to encourage other thugs to pull such hijacking stunts. Plan wisely; shoot sharply; respond fearlessly; prepare for losses; it is more important to ensure no escape than more survivors.
* be ready with body bags.
:p
* compensate lost of hostages only according to what the state can afford.
* hostages may be scarified if unavoidable, but must honor their sacrifice properly.
I think this is the best way to deter hijacking / hostage taking / piracy. Morally the loses of innocent lives are due to the initiatives and actions of the hijackers. Their threats only work when you hold western Ang Moh's "preservation of all lives culture", you adopt the Soviet styled approach towards these thugs, and clearly demonstrate it and practice it, the thugs will then be educated to try their fucking lucks elsewhere.
In the case of Indian Navy sinking Thai boat, it is not very wrong in my view. The only wrong is that they were poorly informed and failed to identify what they were shooting. However, the Indians were just returning hostile fire and during (& before) the engagement they may not have opportunity to properly identify nor survey, I can't know from the limited report.
The pictures showed dark night sea. The flamed boat is bright enough after the combat to at least identify the boat's name. The initial report only said that they sank SUSPECTED pirate mother-ship in battle.
I still applaud this action. The lost is due to the pirates not the navy. The navy should make best efforts to know what they were actually shooting, if possible before shooting, if not then at least after returning fire - within that pirate infested region.
The navy must be honest, if they want to be honorable. Admit mistakes that they found out they had made. Those idiots expecting navy in combat to be perfect (and make no mistake) are dishonest to themselves, we shouldn't be too bothered by their criticisms.
I am not encouraging navy to be blind and trigger happy. But show courage + professionalism and LEARN. Don't stage paper-tiger falsehood like famiLEE LEEgime.
