<!-- START OF : div id="storytext"--><!-- more than 4 paragraphs -->ON OCT 7, while several guests and I were watching baseball's National League divisional play-offs, StarHub's ESPN channel abruptly stopped broadcasting at a critical point in the middle of the game. For the next 40 minutes, before resuming live broadcast, it showed endless TV commercials and various videos, most of which had nothing to do with baseball.
Fortunately, we were still able to see the live game on the Internet via MLB.com. Friends in Hong Kong were able to watch it on ESPN, and it appears the interruption was a local affair. I called five minutes into the disrupted live telecast and was told the matter was still being investigated, with no conclusion or result.
Then, during last Saturday's National League baseball championship game, ESPN ads and StarHub's online TV guide stated that the next live baseball playoff game would be telecast live at 8am on Sunday. So we all got up early on Sunday morning to watch the game live. Instead, without warning, ESPN telecast golf. Its website TV guide now said it would telecast a recording of the baseball only at 6pm that evening, long after we had got out of bed to see a live game.
Again, we turned off the TV and watched the game live on the Internet at MLB.com.
