中新网4月17日电 据马来西亚《光明日报》报道，一名来自中国青岛的无臂女子13日受邀前往新加坡担任励志讲座嘉宾，顺便度假，不料却在新加坡关卡被质疑目的是来行乞的。当时的她又慌张又害怕，还哭了起来，最后被送回中国。
新加坡32岁行政人员刘女士透露，她的残疾朋友今年64岁，名叫任吉美，天生没有双臂，却有残而不废的精神，能靠双脚取代双手做很多事，被网民称为“脚比手还灵活的女人”。
“我的丈夫在网络上看见任吉美的短片，发现她和我是同乡，都是山东人，因此，去年我的先生与朋友一同到中国旅游时，便特地到任吉美住的村落去，并与任吉美成为好友，过后，还邀请她来新加坡。”
经过几个月的联系及办理手续，任吉美于4月13日晚上约10时抵达新加坡。
当时，刘女士也亲自到机场准备接机，但不久后，她便接到一名官员的来电，询问她与任吉美的关系等问题，大约3小时后，刘女士拨电向有关官员询问，对方表示将把任吉美送回中国，令她感到非常吃惊。
事后，刘女士联络上任吉美，并从她的媳妇口中得知，机场的关卡人员曾经询问她，是不是到新加坡来行乞，当时任吉美还被吓得哭了起来。
对于邀请任吉美来新，却闹得这么不愉快，刘女士感到非常愧疚。她说，任吉美这趟到新加坡，原本答应出席一项在新加坡博览中心举行的励志讲座，担任嘉宾。这个讲座是由一个培训协会主办的。
培训协会的会长孙先生透露，这个讲座名为“生命礼物”，是教导参与者如何处理人与人之间的关系和探讨生命价值等问题。讲座将于周六(4月17日)早上10时，在新加坡博览中心举行。
由于任吉美临时无法抵新出席，培训协会打算安排任吉美通过长途电话，与200多名参与者分享她的人生经历。
