Yes a divorcee macik acquaintance of mine told me this:

1) Ex-husband wanted another wife.
2) She said no.
3) Refused to sleep with him.
4) He cursed her, called her a prostitute etc and beat her up.

Moral of the story: no need for mythical angels, they were going to do the cursing and 'punishing' all by themselves.
