wow! Feeding Hougang’s Elderly, Poor & Needy

Currently in Hougang, we have an existing welfare program (courtesy of kind hearted souls) to provide free meals for our elderly, poor and needy on every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Today, I have just made arrangements with another community group to provide free meals for our elderly, poor & needy in Hougang for the remaining days, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.

This enhanced arrangement will start shortly and will provide Hougang’s elderly, poor and needy with 1 free meal everyday.

for decades, there've been papaya ballslickers donating free food to folks in chinatown, they've given so much to the folks of chinatown, that those ppl hardly need to walk into provision shops/ fairprice/ shengsiong etc.

finally, now we can see the shift, where some philantropic ppl identify that there r other underprivileged ppl outside of chinatown as well. i'm glad YSL managed to kick start this initiative. for all u know, maybe aljunied GRC can do the same, so the underprivileged would be less hungry than before...

WP to take over Aljunied Town Council offices

MR LOW Thia Kiang and his team of Workers' Party (WP) MPs for Aljunied GRC will be able to take over the office leases of the Aljunied Town Council, HDB revealed on Friday.
Following his victory in the General Election, Mr Low said he hoped to get the cooperation of the People's Action Party (PAP) in taking over the premises saying building a new town council building would be a 'waste of resources.'
The WP leader was alluding to how when he was first elected in the Hougang single-seat ward back in 1991, he had to scramble to build a new town council building because he had to vacate the Hougang Town Council office after he took over from the PAP.
In a statement, HDB said that three offices, each on a 3-year lease, have been rented to the Aljunied Town Council and that the 'new Aljunied GRC MPs will take on all existing agreements of the Aljunied Town Council.'
Meanwhile, HDB has also clarified the reason Mr Low had to vacate the Houggang Town Council office back in 1991.
'Prior to the 1991 election, Hougang Town Council had been managing 3 SMCs ? Hougang, Punggol and Paya Lebar SMCs. The Hougang Town Council office was then located in Punggol SMC which, following the 1991 elections, was subsumed by Cheng San GRC,' HDB said in its statement.

That is good effort. Hougang people deserved to be taken care and well fed. Those in other town, please stay away from such freebies because you suported PAP the devil.

Free abalone porridge and sharks fin soup is only reserved for poor and needy people in Hougang. Those who stay in Potong Pasir and voted for PAP don't expect Seetoh to give free porridge and sharks fin soup anymore. You should have voted opposition to get free food from the PAP instead.

Slight correction, abalone porridge is not free.....it's priced at $2 after market subsidy.
