These blocks of flats at Neo Tiew, near Lim Chu Kang, have been abandoned for ten years, says STOMPer Subaru. He also shares with us an urban legend of the place.

The STOMPer says:

"These flats were built in 1979, and abandoned since 10 years ago.

"This place has a market, playground and 3-storey flats. All abandoned.

"They are blocks 3 to 5 on Neo Tiew Road, at the junction of Lim Chu Kang and Kranji.

"It is also near the Sungei Gedong and Lim Chu Kang army camps.

"There is a legend that the king of the banana trees was planted behind the flats.

"One person wanted to strike a fortune in lottery, so he prayed at the tree.

"He threatened the king by putting seven pins into the tree.

"After he became rich, he ran off and bought a condo, but forgot to remove the pins.

"Thus the king of the banana trees died, and the spirit has been seeking revenge since.

"After this happened, the block of flats became abandoned.

"This place is still used for army training and apparently, it is also scheduled for HDB redevelopment in the future."

STOMPer Rachel adds:

"I disagree with the Stomper that the place is haunted.

"As far as I understand this is a restricted zone and probably owned by MINDEF.

"There are also prominent signs which state 'restricted zone' along its perimeter."

SAF using it as a training ground for FIBUA practices? What a waste of resources!

FIBUA is never going to take place in SG

Aggressors just need to starve and desiccate SG

Why waste a soldier fighting in SG?

Drop a bomb or cut off the water supply!

Hey I remember that place got a friend who staied there once. Sold it off after 5 years giving excuse that it was too ulu and have to wake up too earily to go to work at loyang.
