I believe it got to do with economics & education demographics.

It is proven from history that when an economy increases, improves, and lifestyle increases, educational level increases, the richer nation will have a tendency to have 1 or 2 child, and stop it there.

India is a growing economy, and I believe they are right now having faster growth rates, and more and more people are entering middle class status, and the educational level of the people are increasing. Many telemarketing jobs, service calls centers were transferred from USA to India... more and more Indians are getting wealthier.

slumdog millionaire is one of them... haha.

Food supply would be a problem. Food would be WAY more expensive then it is right now if the supply cannot keep up with the population.

Those getting rich enough to be like us and stop having kids are in the minority. The majority is still made up of rural folks who reproduce like no tomorrow

there was a ideas sharing at www.ted.com regarding about the consumption of insects as source of protein, and delicacy, why not? 80% of the South East Asian / ASEAN region plus China are eating insects as a source of protein and delicacy.

the ratio is as such,

10KG of agriculture produce gives 1KG of Beef

10KG of agriculture produce gives 3KG of PORK

10KG of agriculture produce gives 5KG of Chicken Meat

10KG of agriculture produce gives 9KG of Insects Protein & Delicacy.

There are land shortages, precious arable land, and fresh water resources... to curb these problems, eating insects as opposed to eating meat is a good way to curb the growing demand of meat. Look at Thailand, there are all kinds of variety of Insects for sale.

Energy will become an issue as well.

So, from the growing population of the world give rise to numerous problems, and numerous opportunities as well, it's all up to us to capitalize on these growing demand of food, water, accommodation, energy, education, consumer goods, services, lifestyle products etc...

Singapore is right at the center of ASEAN nation with over 500 Million population surrounding it, making it the ideal Regional Hub for Logistics Infrastructures, Financial Centers, and Business Headquarters.

However, for Singaporeans to capitalize on these business opportunities, we have to vote in a capable Prime Minister / President. My primary choice now is Mr. Tan Jee Say. So far, his presentation of Singapore's problems and challenges is the pin pointed with accuracy and precision, and his proposal on rejuvenating Singapore's economy and infrastructure is truly for the better of Singaporeans, born and bred, Mr. Tan Jee Say is a true Singaporean, and he is truly fighting for the rights of Singaporeans.

We should all unite, and vote in Mr. Tan Jee Say, support this person, and when he have moral support from the people, I believe great changes for the greater good of Singaporeans will be realized.

Right now, everyone in Singapore, the poor Singaporeans are just serfs, and peons, slave to their meager belongings, and their debts... we have to do something!

I am rallying for support of all Singaporeans, born and bred to veto for change, and let us support Mr. Tan Jee Say as our agent of reform of Singapore's infrastructure! Make Singapore a Singaporean Singapore!
