Set up police post within Woodlands Centre to curb crime

THERE was a robbery attempt in Woodlands recently in which a money changer was attacked. It was fortunate that the victim was not seriously injured and the robbers did not succeed in their crime.
It is disturbing to learn that crime has persisted in Woodlands Centre as this is not the first time such an incident has happened.
Besides increasing police patrols around Woodlands Centre, the authorities should consider setting up a police post within the mall. The nearest neighbourhood police centre is in Woodlands Avenue 6, so the immediate presence of the law may not be strongly felt. No robber would have the audacity to strike if there is police presence nearby.
