Dads must help out too
By Zakir Hussain
THE Prime Minister's twin messages for Chinese New Year - to up workplace productivity and get couples to have more babies - could impact more on working mothers.
Which is why Mr Lee Hsien Loong hopes fathers will do more.
The PM said on Sunday: 'Working mums have a difficult task - you've got to balance your home as well as your work; you've got to cook, look after the babies, take them to school.'
He said families and fathers, in particular, can help.
'And in this year of the Tiger, amidst all the other messages, this message - please help look after your family, and if you're the husband, please help your wife to take care of the kids - I think is worth reiterating.'
Husbands can do many things to help their wives look after the children, including changing the nappies, said Mr Lee, who had done that himself.
