Woman raped by stepfather sends SMS during sentencing

KUALA LUMPUR: A woman, who was raped by her Pakistani stepfather when she was 15, sent an SMS to the prosecutor to say that she remained traumatised by the incident.
The woman sent the message when a Sessions Court here was sentencing the man to 17 years in jail and ordered him to be whipped 12 times for three counts of rape.
The man was charged with raping her at the family's home in Brickfields between Aug 31 and Sept 21, 2006.
Her mother, who came to court on Thursday, also told the judge that she was always crying and did not talk much since the incident.
