A woman who was in a car accident in which one car overturned and two were badly damaged was charged in court on Tuesday.

Xiao Shi Ying, 34, was driving along Commonwealth Avenue when the accident happened on Oct 3, 2010.

On Tuesday, she was charged with using her car to crash into three vehicles and assaulting two people who were in one of the cars.


Her husband, Mr Wong Hsien Loong, was one of those assaulted. According to records from the Registry of Marriages, the two were married in August 2004.

Xiao had allegedly crashed her car into Mr Wong's car at the junction of Commonwealth Avenue West and Vista Exchange Green.

She then reportedly scratched his face and body. Mr Wong suffered a fractured finger from the car accident.

A woman is being charged for ramming into three cars and assaulting two people.

Xiao Shi Ying was charged in court on Tuesday (31 Jan) after her actions left one car overturned and two badly damaged.

According to The Straits Times, out of the two people the 34-year-old assaulted, one of them was her husband, Wong Hsien Loong. The pair got married in August 2004.

She had allegedly mauled her husband's face and body after crashing her car into his while driving along Commonwealth Avenue on 3 October 2010.

The other victim assaulted by Xiao was Stella Goh, who was attacked on her lower body.

Fortunately, no one sustained serious injuries in the incident.

Wong sustained a fractured finger while the people in the other affected vehicles strained their neck muscles.

Xiao is due for mention in court for five charges on 28 February.

Her charges include one of causing grievous hurt, two of causing hurt and another two of voluntarily causing hurt.
