Woman charged with armed robbery now in remand

A 50-year-old woman was charged in a district court on Wednesday with armed robbery in a lift.
Ang Lay Chin is alleged to have robbed Ms Gan Pei Fueng, 25, of her handbag, jewellery, mobile phone and various other items in a lift at an HDB block in Ang Mo Kio Street 11 while armed with a knife.
She allegedly committed the offence with a man at about 8.30pm on Sept 29. She was remanded at Ang Mo Kio police division lock-up for a week as she is believed to be involved in other cases.
Ang will be back in court on Oct 9.
