SINGAPORE - A 42-year-old woman was arrested by the police on Nov 16 for providing false contact information to get an illegal loan from loansharks.

The woman was arrested at 2.15pm in Serangoon Ave 2.

The woman had used her previous residential address to get a loan from illegal moneylenders and this resulted in the current home owners being harassed by loansharks.

She is also being investigated for failing to report the change of her residential address under the National Registration Act.

If found guilty for providing false information she can be jailed up to a year, and for failing to report her change of address she can be fined up to $5,000 and/or jailed up to five years.
