Woman arrested at MBS for soliciting

SHE was loitering at the lobby of the Marina Bay Sands (MBS) hotel in the wee hours of last Saturday, and struck up a conversation with a security guard.

But it was business, and not friendship, on the mind of the 32-year-old Vietnamese woman.

After some chat, she offered the security guard sexual services in exchange for $400, and persisted even after he declined.

He finally identified himself and detained her. She was later handed over to the police, who arrested her that night.

If found guilty of soliciting, she can be fined up to $1,000. Repeat offenders can be fined up to $2,000, jailed up to six months, or both.

In October last year, police nabbed another Vietnamese woman at the hotel for the same offence.

She had offered sexual services to a police officer, who was dressed in plain clothes.

She was also arrested.
