A newborn baby boy has survived being buried alive in a rooftop garden in Singapore.
The baby was found by an elderly man who heard mewing sounds and thought he was going to the rescue of a cat.
Tay Kim Sia, 60, was smoking with a friend at the top of a six-storey car park in Eunos Crescent on Monday afternoon, when he heard the cries, The Straits Times reported.

He found the baby buried in a shallow grave in a nearby garden, with a garbage bag twisted around his neck and m&d and leaves stuffed in his mouth, Yahoo News Singapore reported.
"I thought there was a cat in trouble, so I pushed the bushes aside to look around.
"Then I saw a little foot sticking out of the soil. I told my friend who was smoking nearby, and he said it must be a battery-operated soft toy, and that I should not bother about it."
Mr Tay dug out the baby, who still had the umbilical cord attached, and took him into the Tembusu Seniors Activity Centre, where the infant was cleaned.
Seniors at the centre said the baby looked only hours old, but was healthy, with wide eyes and dark skin.
Blood was found in a stairwell and police found a bundle of bloody clothes hidden in bushes close to where the baby was buried.
The boy was taken to KK Women's and Children's Hospital and authorities are trying to find his family.
