If the PAP is still in power, don't hold your breadth. Any other contestant will have the dirt dug up on him and displayed to the public to ensure that the PAP chosen candidate will be returned unopposed.

Interesting to note that out of all our presidents, only two were ex-PAP members, Devan Nair and Ong Teng Cheong. All the rest never got into trouble with the PAP government during their presidencies, except the two ex-PAP members. Tan Kin Lian is a PAP member, but never a minister or even an MP. In any case, I don't think that he'd try. For a seat in Parliament perhaps, but I don't think so for the Presidency.
