Here is a website: They even advertise on BBC and CNN. Even offering a special package for Singaporean residents.

According to our research report “Malaysia Medical Tourism Outlook 2012”, Malaysia is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the ASEAN region.

Despite the global economic slowdown, it received around 22 Million international tourists in 2008, an increase of around 5% over the previous year (2007). Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand are important sources of visitors for the country.

Malaysia has one of the most developed healthcare infrastructures in the region and is considered as the paradise for healthcare facilities and hospitals.

Malaysia received around 75% of medical tourists from the ASEAN region, followed by Japan and Europe at 3% each, India at 2% and others at 17% in 2008.

This beggar thy neighbour thing is silly. Best thing to happen to Singapore would be for Malaysia to be a tourism / health hub. Especially JB, but KL won't be too far away. If only Malaysia would have a few IRs in JB, Melaka and KL with casinos having Disneyland and other famed themed parks. I am very sure the number of visitors to Singapore will go up (and Abdullah will see the third bridge come up even though he is no longer PM).

Same for healthcare.
