</TR><!-- headline one : end --><!-- show image if available --></TBODY></TABLE>

<!-- START OF : div id="storytext"--><!-- more than 4 paragraphs -->I READ with disgust on Wednesday about the conduct of the motorist at the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour in Siglap Hill, who allegedly drove away without taking responsibility for injuries suffered by a church volunteer ('Car 'hits' volunteer in church, then speeds off').
It is clear such a mentality has become so rooted in the minds of some motorists (and their passengers), that they do not stop to take stock of the damage they may have inflicted on others.
It is also disgusting that the driver and his passenger lacked manners, charity and civic duty.
If true, their selfish and irresponsible conduct should not be tolerated.
The law should come down hard on such behaviour to set an example to the increasing number of drivers who leave behind not only human victims but also many a dent on other vehicles. Ho Wai Kee
