SINGAPORE: Increase the space and facilities to promote social integration - that's one of the areas that residents in the newly-formed Chua Chu Kang GRC want to see in their neighbourhoods

This point was highlighted by Manpower Minister and MP for the GRC, Gan Kim Yong, when he spoke to the media on the sidelines of a carnival in the constituency on Sunday.

Also present at the carnival were Hong Kah GRC MP Zaqy Mohamad and two new faces - unionist Alex Yam and former public servant Low Yen Ling.

They are the likely five in the team for the new Chua Chu Kang GRC, which is made up of the former Chua Chu Kang single-member ward and most parts of Hong Kah GRC.

Mr Gan said another key concern of residents is the rising cost of living. He said he and this team will continue to reach out to the needy.
