受到民進黨徵召，要參選立委補選的藝人余天，和太太李亞萍上廣播節目，不過李亞萍全程砲火全開痛批民進黨的黨內派系，還說要加入「討厭民進黨」，數度讓余天相當尷尬。

余天妻子李亞萍：「怎麼搞的，我越看越民進黨越像國民黨，越看國民黨越像民進黨，哈哈哈哈哈。」
李亞萍陪同丈夫余天上廣播節目，嗆辣作風絲毫不減，痛批民進黨的接地氣，跑到哪裡去了。
余天妻子李亞萍：「國民黨都穿上了布鞋、草鞋，民進黨全部換成了皮鞋。」
李亞萍還直言不喜歡，黨內的派系鬥爭，指控派系私底下為了搶位子，簡直殺紅了眼。
余天妻子李亞萍：「這個比國民黨來台灣那個時候，搶地還要嚴重吧，這是不爭氣不成氣魄，我想加入討厭民進黨，哈哈哈哈。」

半開玩笑，李亞萍和余天也在節目上，護航力挺總統蔡英文繼續參選2020。
余天妻子李亞萍：「(我跟蔡英文說)也沒有什麼一人之下，妳就是萬人之上，對不對，什麼事情妳不能做決策啊，妳要硬一點啊，霸氣一點啊，(蔡英文)說，唉唉唉就這樣子。」
但新閣揆才剛走馬上任，黨內就傳出批評聲浪，民進黨稱尊重多元聲音。
民進黨黨部發言人林琮盛：「我們尊重一些他(余天)的家人的說法，我們還是希望大家可以給他，最好、最大的支持跟鼓勵。」

而余天即將投入三重區立委補選，李亞萍則揶揄丈夫又老又窮，還說自己的衣服都破了好幾個洞。
新北市黨部主委余天vs.妻子李亞萍：「三重我是滿有把握的，因為我一次選舉的時候，你少臭屁了，到時候要是你漏氣的話，你回家給我試試看。」

雖然之前傳出李亞萍不支持余天參選，但作為民進黨員，態度似乎軟化一些。
