Is he due for promotion? Deputy PM? Is he going to announce a potentially unpopular policy soon? Like forced euthanasia? More means-testing?
Why not our Defence Minister or even Senior Minister? How about my favourite superhero Mr-I-Check-My-CPF-Statement-Once-A-Month-And-Feel-Rich Labour Chief Lim Sweeeeeee Say?
Something’s really fishy. If they needed someone to explain and justify Town Councils’ failed investments, why him of all people? Because HIS Town Council didn’t invest and lost money?
Maybe the ruling PAP party needs someone with a clean slate and kinda popular(they think) or at least someone who didn’t shoot his mouth accidentally to explain this fiasco. But they forgot about his role in the NKF scandal. oops.
Seriously why not just come clean, and move on?
