In the British tradition which we partly adopt, the sovereign does not sing the anthem (God Save the King / Queen) which is directed at him / her. As such, our President (our sovereign) does not sing the National Anthem.

Hed was already thinking of the wonderful beef chops awaiting him at the Istana function, not forgetting all the expensive duty-free vintage wines, champagne, single malt whiskies and fabulous brandies at the function where all the overfed men, women in white and their cronies head too after each NDP.
