1.) SARS - Months before the out break, I was in Chain and I already know there's a virus in Guangzhou and the China hospital is trying to cover up, I know because I happen to know people in the Health Care Ministry and I was told in private to stay away from Guangzhou.

2.) Toxic Mike Power - It is discovered by HK, What our World Class AVA do everyday? Civil Servant, what do you expect.

3.) Lehman Brothers - MAS did nothing to investigate when
reports and complain that counter staff is pushing investment products, the public did sound the warning but MAS is too busy protecting the interest of DBS, as long as it is profitable, sell.

4.) Bank Guarantee - No foresight, try to cover up by saying we have a strong system and U turn the same day to Guarantee all deposits. (But only 150B against 700B deposits)

So add all these recent cases together, the verdict is simple, They have no idea what is going on and have no idea now to solve it, just follow what others do and try to say something smart to cover their incompetence.

When two years or so ago, MM Lee uttered that Singapore has a first world government, many opposition supporters and government detractors have been falling all over themselves to disprove it, thus falling in the trap.

Me, I just know that the Singapore government is not first world. There's no need to prove it just as there's not need to prove that a darker shade of grey is closer to black than to white. For even in the real first world, there's no such thing as a perfect government. What defines first world? US? UK and Europe? Japan? Take a look at what's happening there and what's gone wrong there, and compare them with Singapore. The more one's against PAP, the more one should avoid general classification and general comparison. Focus on the issues and policies that have gone wrong, not clamoring for justification of branding. It only gives PAP more excuses to write off lapses in the so-called bigger picture.

I said it's a trap, or has become a trap, whether intended by MM Lee not, because, the lines of arguments are degenerating into childish proportions. "Hey PAP, you say you first world, how come now like that?" Isn't that childish? Why not, "hey PAP, oil price is now about US$70 per barrel, how come our electricity bill is based on US$155?" Isn't that and things like that the point?
