Why not have vaccinated and unvaccinated sections at hawker and food centres?

If an unvaxxed person bought food and is sitting down to eat and gets caught by a SDA, what happens to the food?
Throw it away? A bit wasteful.
And how does the SDA stop the unvaxxed person from eating and eject the person from the hawker centre?
And if unable to, call the police?
The police force will be stretched deploying policemen to hawker centres just to book the unvaxxed offenders.
Why not have a section for unvaxxed people, like smoking section?
There, the unvaxxed people can spread the virus to each other and no one will give a f**k.

SINGAPORE - Unvaccinated individuals will no longer be able to dine in, go to shopping malls, hawker centres and coffee shops, or visit attractions from next Wednesday (Oct 13).
However, unvaccinated children who are 12 years old or below can still do so.
The Ministry of Health said on Saturday (Oct 9) that this is a move to protect unvaccinated individuals in the community and to reduce the strain on the healthcare system.
Those who have recovered from Covid-19, or have a valid negative pre-event test result, are also considered fully vaccinated.
Speaking at a press conference by the multi-ministry task force tackling Covid-19 on Saturday (Oct 9), Minister for Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong said: “There have been a few settings frequently visited by a significant proportion of infected individuals, including those who are unvaccinated, who later on fell very ill.”
He added that such settings include food and beverage (F&B) outlets, retail establishments and shopping centres.

Currently, those who are unvaccinated can dine in at hawker centres and coffee shops. They will no longer be allowed to do so under the new rules kicking in on Wednesday.
Instead, groups of up to only two fully vaccinated people will be allowed to dine in at hawker centres or coffee shops, as well as F&B establishments, MOH said.

“Individuals who do not meet the above criteria can still buy takeaway food,” it added.
Unvaccinated people will also not be allowed to enter shopping malls or large standalone stores from Wednesday. Large standalone supermarkets are exempted.
MOH said businesses that are able to implement the new rules earlier than Wednesday are strongly encouraged to do so.

The measures are there to help the unvaxxed. And also the healthcare system in not having an epidemic of cases and overwhelm the system.

Singapore has these big open areas for seating at eateries. Too many entry points.

In Canada at one stage they asked food courts to shut down the seating area. Other restaurants have to choose between pure takeout ie no dine in or to have checks at point of entry to dine in area and if also doing takeout the takeout is curbside only ie drive thru or someone goes out to car park to deliver to the customer there. No mixing of takeout customers and dine in since we dont check vax status for takeout customers.

So singapore may have to cordon off the seating area or the whole hawker centre. Have a few entry points. Check everyone at point of entry.

If they wanted to force vaccination might as well just put in law all need to be vaxxed. And if not vaxxed fine or jail plus vax.

The reality is this policy is meant to allow people to choose. And it is to protect the unvaxxed from getting covid.

The protection is not 100%.

Even if one is vaxxed they can still get seriously ill. But chances are lower.

Best is to still be cautious and not be too relaxed about going to crowded places.

Unvaxxed have very very high risk of getting infected and very sick. So they should avoid going out as far aa possible.

SINGAPORE: Safe distancing enforcement officers will conduct "selective" checks of diners' COVID-19 vaccination status when new rules at hawker centres and coffee shops kick in from Wednesday (Oct 13).

Unvaccinated or partially vaccinated people can continue to take away food from hawker centres and coffee shops.

"We seek diners' cooperation to show our enforcement officers the vaccination 'green tick' verification on the TraceTogether app," said the National Environment Agency (NEA) and Singapore Food Agency (SFA) in a media release.

Diners can also provide their TraceTogether token to be scanned for their vaccination status.

Those who breach the vaccination-differentiated measures will be warned and have their particulars recorded, said the agencies.

"Enforcement action will be taken against repeat offenders and those who refuse to cooperate," they added.
