In the same court, the judge noted that Abdol Wahab Abdul Rahman 46, had stolen from NTUC FairPrice outlet in Taman Jurong shopping centre within two weeks of his release from prison, also for theft.
For stealing two packs of chocolate and four six-pack cans of stout worth $97, he booked himself 10 weeks in jail.
The third shoplifter, Abdukrasid Abdul Rahim 39, was jailed eight months for helping himself to $131 worth of Guiness stout from a Shop N Save supermarket in West Mall shopping centre in Bukit Batok Central.
Each of them could have been jailed up to seven years and fined for theft.
