There are so many sects and denominations. Some consider Seventh Day Adventists heretics. Others despise the Mormons. And some staunch mainstream Protestants loathe Catholicism.

Organized religions are more or less social clubs, just like fans of a football team gather to support their team, and mingle with other fellow fans.

It is also a good extractor of money and time, usually both. Fundraising this, fundraising that.

Religion is like a set meal on a restaurant menu, some items are shit but since you've paid so much (sunk cost fallacy), you try very hard to convince yourself that you (and your family and friends etc) had made the correct choice, so all the items are wonderful and tasty.

Spirituality is the a la carte menu. Pick and choose what you want. Or order a glass of water.

Actually I am thinking that the pap should implement full Sharia law on the mudslimes...they commit crimes, get flogged in public...that includes eating during Ramadan... premarital sex... women treated as cattle...under age marriage, 4 wives, chopping off hands n head for crimes....etc...these mudslimes like tudung soo much ....give it to them....but they take the whole thing..no cherry picking...n see how they repent

Yes they are in essence social clubs, but with the added benefit of the assurance of a jolly good afterlife. Hence it's alluring to the weak minded who need a daddy figure during and after their death to sayang them and to show them a good time for all eternity. I both hands up in support. PAP should also fund m&d kids to attend full time at madrasahs. Religious m&ds should keep their kids away from mainstream schools where tudung is still prohabited.

Everyone has the right to freedom of religion practice. Islam in Singapore should not be moderated by PAP.
