Why local press will reports the race if the crime is involve with Chinese only?

Two male Chinese youths have been arrested for two cases of snatch thefts.

The first case occurred on Oct 3 at about 7.45pm near Pioneer MRT station.

A 17-year-old Chinese male was detained by his female victim after his accomplice, also 17, made away with the victim's mobile phone.

At about 11.30pm on the same day, the accomplice snatched another mobile phone from a second victim near Boon Lay MRT station.

The second victim's cries for help attracted the attention of several members of the public who came forward and detained him until the police arrived at the scene.

He was arrested and the second victim's mobile phone was recovered.

The mobile phone from the earlier case is still in the midst of being retreived.

Both suspects will be charged in court on Oct 5.

If guilty, they will face up to seven years of jail and caning.
