The focus of attention was about good deeds, righteousness, justice no matter your creed and familial ties. Justice must preside over all.

Because Abrahamic religions believe that time is linear, and there is binary choice of an eternal hell or eternal heaven as an afterlife destination, naturally their believers are jealous about maintaining and growing its membership, and dissuading against joining the 'wrong' membership.

Religion is for those who are fearful of going to hell.

Spirituality is for those who have went to hell, and have made peace with it.
