Should Medical and Education be charged with GST?
If your answer is NO! Please read this, http://www.moh.gov.sg/mohcorp/mediaforums.aspx?id=12430
I have been in and out of hospital due to old age sickness, after studying the bill I notice that I'm Charged with with GST. I have no choice but to visit a hospital because I'm sick.
GST is a broad-based consumption tax levied on the import of goods, as well as nearly all supplies of goods and services in Singapore. The only exemptions are for the sales and leases of residential properties and most financial services.
Furthermore our 3 local varsity just increased their fees. (inclusive of prevailing GST?)
The increase was announced on Thursday in a press statement from NTU. Students entering non-business undergraduate courses will have to pay about four per cent more, while those in business programmes will have to pay almost seven per cent more.

NTU stated that its fee revision will not affect current students.
Removing GST on Medical and Education will help reduce the burden of rising cost.
What is ruling party's say on this?
