TinPot Ling is indeed a manifestation of the modern act cute Bimbo. Recently she was asked whether she could identify herself with blue collar peasants in McPherson. TinPot Ling gave peasants another lethal dose of TinPot logic --- 'because my parents owe a coffee shop, i can click with the peasants'
She meant to say frequent interactions with peasants at her parents' coffeeshop gave her the common touch to engage peasants.
However true to her nature as a tinpot, peasants immediately realised that her parents are fairly wealthy to run a coffee shop whose sale will easily fetch millions.
This is another example why TinPot Ling must be balked.
Today, ex-Regent Ah Goh Goh says he will continue to TinPot Ling's patron in Marine Parade GRC. It is effectively telling TinPot Ling that the peasants' opinions do not matter and his patronage will put her in good stead.
This is the main reason why the GRC system must be scrapped. It is used as a patronage system by the regime. Young bimbos like TinPot will be assured of a parliamentary seat without the struggles that permeate the private sector because ex-Regent supported her bid to be a peasant representative. TinPot Ling will not fight for her peasants' interests but will instead cook curry to support her patron ex-Regent Ah Goh.
Ex-Regent Goh is pleased to have TinPot Ling in his team. Why?
It is to show the wannabes that he is a kind patron despite attempts to sabo his reputation. History is full of examples when ex-Regents become powerful power brokers after their bosses left the scene. By marketing himself as a kind Patron, ex-Regent Ah Goh is making the best of the silly attempt to discredit him after two failed attempts to defeat the rebellious Teochews in Hougang and Potong Pasir. By acting as TinPot Ling's patron, he is assured of her support if a showdown with Arse Loong becomes inevitable.
