Frankly why was he picked? Why was he so special? He is not even son of God? just a rich dude.

How could anyone sit in a location could master the knowledge of the Universe without even conducting a scientific experiment?

Would anyone get a nobel prize by sitting in a same location for many years? This doesn't make sense.
