The holes that could potentially breed mosquitoes have been sealed, in response to a STOMP article on Jul 27. STOMPer Vanessa is, however, concerned why the holes near Yishun JC weren't noticed in routine inspections by LTA.
In the STOMPer's email dated Jul 29:
"Thank you Stomp for the post. The 2 holes are now sealed off and the authority will remove the redundant signage footings or replace with new signages accordingly.
"From ONE Motoring website: ‘Inspections by LTA are carried out once every two weeks for major roads and once every two months for minor roads on public road facilities which include signages, bus shelters, footpaths, pedestrian overhead bridges and linkways etc.'
"The point I am stressing is how can the authority be unaware of this 2 holes prior to the STOMP post, if there were routine inspections? Were the holes overlooked?"
