these food delivery apps are not making money delivery food. they pay incentives and mucho dineros to riders to attract them (away from the competition), amass huge numbers of riders and customers, and data-mine the shit out of each user, food purchase, ride, and route. and then turn around to sell the (privacy) info for bigger bucks. moreover, if they can show investors and shareholders the big numbers (it's all about data-mining and getting massive representations of user behavior and purchases) they can convince more morons to invest in them. and then either go ipo or sell off biz for billions. there's no infrastructure spend, not much capital outlay except for data centers (even that they outsource), not too much to hire ah nehs or outsource for coding and i.t. work. most of the sexpense go into executive compensation and incentives and bonuses to attract both customers and riders. as for employee stock options, it's paper money. there's no real money involved sexcept when options vest. what a fucking scam!
