STOMPer Johnny witnessed the huge fire which broke out at Block 163A Gangsa Road in Bukit Panjang and sent in video footage of the explosions and car owners who were trying to save their vehicles.

In his email to STOMP at 4am today (Oct 7), the STOMPer wrote:

“A huge fire break out at Block 163A Gangsa Road (Bukit Panjang) two hours ago. I managed to captures some video clips.

“There were a few explosions during the fire and many car owners were trying to rescue their cars.

“Some brave and helpful residents were helping to put out the fire.”

STOMP has contacted SCDF for comments and a spokesman said:

"At 0232 hrs, SCDF was alerted for a fire incident at a multi-storey car park at Block 163A, Gangsa Road.

"SCDF arrived at the incident site within 4 minutes upon activation.

"The fire involved 52 motorcycles at Deck D of the multi-storey car park.

"The entire deck was heavily smoke-logged. Firefighters donning breathing apparatus sets brought the fire under control within 15 minutes.

"There was no one injured or needed to be evacuated due to the fire.

"SCDF is investigating the cause of the fire."
