TEMASEK Holdings has appointed former Singapore Exchange (SGX) chief executive Hsieh Fu Hua as its president and executive director.

Mr Hsieh, 59, had been working in a part-time role with the Singapore investment firm.

The new position involves him working closely with the Temasek leadership in areas including talent development and succession planning, the firm said in a statement yesterday.

This continues the work Mr Hsieh has been doing since February as special adviser to Temasek chief executive and executive director Ho Ching. He joined the Temasek board as non-executive director on Feb 1.

Temasek also said yesterday it has appointed a top corporate lawyer as its new head of portfolio management. Mr Dilhan Pillay Sandrasegara, currently the managing partner of law firm WongPartnership, will join Temasek with effect from Oct 18. His post at the law firm will be taken over by Ms Rachel Eng, 41, who heads the firm's financial services group.
