Newspaper thief caught

A 29-year-old man was arrested by police early on Thursday morning while trying to steal newspapers from a drop-off point in Bukit Batok Central. Newspaper vendors operating in the vicinity had reported to police and Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) after discovering 2,400 copies of The Straits Times' Life! and classified sections missing over the previous two nights. The culprit was eventually caught in an ambush set up near the newspaper drop point.

Said Mr Chua Wee Phong, Executive Vice-President of SPH's Circulation Department: 'The theft has inconvenienced our readers and subscribers who did not receive their newspapers. Once we received the tip-off from vendors, the team acted immediately to replace the stolen newspaper copies. 'We would like to assure our readers and subscribers that we will go all out to help them get their daily newspapers on time,' he added.
Police investigations are ongoing.

Maybe the thief stole the newspapers in order to wrap things or other purposes, rather than to sell the newspapers.
I don't see someone who runs a news-stand going around stealing newspapers.
And nobody would buy newspapers from someone standing on the street.

I can only think of two possibilities:

1) The honourable thief is doing Singaporeans a favour by throwing away
lies not wholesome for breakfast.

2) China foreigners believe in selling recycle papers are worth more than
working in construction site or prostituting around like CMH.

Whichever case mentioned above, it is indeed good news and not so much of paper being stolen.

Frankly, I don't really care. I am just speaking the truth. If you can't take the harsh truth, you should turn in early.

Why get so worked up over someone stealing newspapers. All sorts of weird shit happen in Singapore everyday.

And FYI, giving me an infraction with the reason "Rude"? Which part of my original post was "rude"? Sarcasm is considered being rude? So many people are sarcastic in this forum here.

You should start to throw out infractions by the dozens in that case. Seriously.

I have to admit sometimes I get into "flame" fights on internet forums. Whenver the other party starts to use vulgarities in their response, I know that they have lost already, having to resort to uncouth words to embolden their arguments.

Or sometimes they simply don't answer as they are unable to formulate a coherent counter-argument.

Everyone knows that an argument choked full of vulgarities only demeans the point the argument is trying to make.

In the case of the forums here, I have learnt something new tonight: The moderators here don't have to resort to using vulgarities when they lose the argument.

Hmmm.. theres only Sam Leong the moderator here after Scroobal gave up. Not everyone likes to get into an argument. Infraction is a vBulletin feature and some people prefer to use it.

You bad. I never did that. What I do is wait for him to come down or I will place the money on he bike. Small money also want to cheat.
The newspaper vendor only get 10 cent/copy.
