STOMPer TV addict was at a coffee shop in Johor when he noticed Singapore's Mediacorp Channel 8 programmes were being shown on the television. However, in Singapore, he is not able to receive Malaysian television stations.
"I asked the coffeeshop's boss the amount of TV licence fee he had to pay and he said in Malaysia there is no need to pay for a TV licence as it was scrapped in 1999.
"In Singapore I have to pay $110 each year when I pay my property tax and even then I could not receive Malaysian TV programmes.
"On top of this I have to pay Starhub $29.96 each month because I could receive only 3 basic groups.
"I live in a first world country but I am not getting the best deal!"
