<!-- START OF : div id="storytext"--><!-- more than 4 paragraphs -->AS A resident of Bedok Reservoir Road, which falls under the purview of the Aljunied Town Council, I have on numerous occasions reported the ungracious acts of my neighbours.
They act inconsiderately by dumping used household items along the common corridor. These items include cupboards, flower pots, bed frames and soiled mattresses. Some also allow their pets to urinate everywhere, especially in the lifts and corridors.
However, each time I make a report, I am told by the town council officers that the matter will be referred to the HDB for its action. It has been months now and nothing has been done.
The clutter is a potential fire hazard and the safety of residents is of utmost concern. In an emergency, residents' lives are at risk. The authorities should take action against the culprits.
Whether it is the responsibility of the town council or the HDB, should the town council not take immediate action to ensure that residents' rights to live in a clean and safe environment are not violated? Hirman Rohani
