Which idiot designed Maxwell Food Centre ?

It's one big great wall of china . So bloody hot for patrons !

Must be designed by owners of drink stalls. Once those stoopid customers sweat like pigs in the cauldron, they will all queue to buy drinks.

It was Maxwell Market before it became a food centre. As a market it would have had less or no cooking, hence less heat.

Though still hot, I think it's tolerable now, especially in the mornings and evenings. I always enjoy eating at the outside area facing the Buddha Tooth Temple.

My first guess is probably some twit who never eats at Food Center. :D

look at hougang Kovan temporary hawker centre now located next to super bowl also same stupid design! no exhaust system and all the hot air trapped in the top pocket and then the ceiling mounted or pillar mounted fans will blow these hot air back to the diners!

Stupidity at its best!

That very same idiot that designed Maxwell Food Centre may also own the food court near it.

Does it make sense now ?

To be fair, the revamped Maxwell Food Centre is very good in ventilation compared to before the upgrading.

Since you brought this up...wasn't this Kovan or HG street 21 hawker centre was renovated at a cost of......... in recent years? why are they tearing it down & rebuidling again?...the cost will definitely be passed down to us, consumers...and they will crow "AFFORDABLE"!!

:p

The same goes for the Tiong Baru Market. The new design hoards the hot air, which enclaved into the interior of the market. Impossible to sit inside for meals at lunch time.

You must be contradicting .

Not contradicting leh.

comparing the new and the old food market, the new is pretty good compared to the old. You probably won't even go to the centre part of the old market as it was like an oven inside.

However, even the revamped market may still be not as good compared to some other better designed food centres.

It is all relative.

hi there

1. one of the better ones : serangoon gdn but carpark is so limited.
2. but not chomp chomp which is hotter than hot in most days.

The old one (where there was a central area for washing dishes) was the best. Plenty of open spaces and well ventilated.
