Btw, when China want to choose one dialect to be common language 普通话 comes to final 2 was Cantonese and 汉语...

Cantonese doesnt hv many original words than Han.... pick Han then...

But then in music Cantonese have better tone and full octave whereas Han has only 7 tones which don't hv 'so' .... and is a struggle with songs writing with modern music equipment...
