I am thinking of setting up a home aquarium.

Preferably a 3 feet long tank. Most of the fishes I see in aquarium shops are so boring. I am thinking if I have piranhas in my 3 feet long tank, it will be quite good. I can throw my leftover meat into the tank and they can eat up for me. No food wastage.

Any idea where I can buy piranhas in Singapore. Or do I need to order online?

Piranhas are illegal in Sinkieland. But let me recommend you other freshwater fishes that are just as toothy and vicious (if not more), yet are perfectly legal.

Wolf fish (Hoplias Aimara)
Vampire fish aka Payara (Hydrolycus Scomberoides)
Africian tiger fish (Hydrocynus Vittatus)

Why is it illegal?

At uni we kept some oscars and red bellied pirhana

pirhana were boring, did nothing but the oscars were more fun, rearranged the tank and react to your feeding

be careful when feeding your oscar, i remember one roomie got bitten when he put his hand in the tank

so get an oscar

I have goldfish in my home aquarium.

I used to have about 50-100 of them in my 6ft tank. Then they all slowly disappeared. Guess my two arowanas ate them.

I only have 3 goldfish, luckily they are still there.

You so Goondo.
Dont know can check from Gargle or Google?

Cannot because piranhas love to bite kkj.

.

According to the Fisheries Act, piranhas are not allowed to be kept or bred in Singapore.
It was only after a two-year period and many meetings with the authorities,
including the Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA),
that approval was given to the park, with plenty of conditions attached.
